1804 Draped Bust Half Cent. C-13. Rarity-1. Plain 4, Stemless Wreath. MS-63 BN (PCGS). This handsome example exhibits a smooth satin texture to hard, tight surfaces. The strike is bold to sharp over most design elements, Libertys portrait particularly praiseworthy for the completion of detail that it possesses. Slightly mottled gray-brown and medium brown patina greets the viewer from the obverse, closer inspection also revealing faded rose-orange color in the protected areas around some of the design elements. The most readily obtainable die marriage of the 1804 Draped Bust half cent, C-13 is particularly popular for type purposes due to the existence of a number of Mint State survivors, as here
