An attractively original piece with splashes of vivid reddish-russet peripheral color to otherwise pearl-gray surfaces. Listed in the <em>Guide Book</em> and long included as part of U.S. coin collections, the Spanish-American silver 8 reales circulated widely in the colonial and early Federal eras and became the model for the U.S. silver dollar.
