拍品描述： 1739 Admiral Vernon Medal. Porto Bello Medals with No Portrait. Adams-Chao PB 2-D, M-G 22. Rarity-5. Bath Metal. AU-55 (PCGS).38.8 mm. Exceptional preservation for this elusive and conditionally challenging type. Glints of original faded gold color persist in the protected areas, the surfaces otherwise warmly toned in light brown. All but the highest points of the deign retain bold to sharp striking detail, and the surfaces are remarkably smooth with a pleasant satin texture. We have only offered two other examples of this type in recent years, a VF-25 that was likely a pocket piece and NGC AU-55 with verdigris and surface scale. This PCGS AU-55 is far finer and worthy of a strong premium.
