Strobridge, William H. Plate #3 from The Descriptive Catalogue of the Seavey Collection, of American Coins, the Property of Lorin G. Parmelee of Boston, 1873. As New.Professionally framed and ready to display. A scarce plate and ideal to adorn the study of an early date large cent enthusiast. This plate photographically documents the entire collection of the coins of 1793 formed by George Seavey, as purchased intact with the remainder of his collection, by Lorin G. Parmelee. This plate is from a catalog prepared in preparation for the auction of this exceptional collection, but published in limited quantity after the en bloc sale of the cabinet (with Parmelee’s blessing), as a record of the impressive collection. After Parmelee selected from the Seavey holdings items he needed for his own collection, a separate sale catalog was produced and an auction was then conducted by Strobridge in June, 1873, under the Seavey and Parmelee names. From the D. Brent Pogue Library. Earlier ex George Frederick Kolbe, December 1993, lot 433.
