PMG Very Fine 30.A bright, well margined and modestly circulated $20 Plain Back that is one of just 10 large size notes known on this Melrose bank. The First National issued just $430,410 from the time of its chartering in October of 1906 until the time when National Currency notes ceased to be issued in 1935. At that time only $1,690 in large size was left outstanding on the charter. The bank officers signatures are bold and clearly legible while the printed design elements are all sharply detailed. It has been more than 20 years since this note has been available to the collecting public.
