Serial Number 1.This plate position A serial number 1 note is the first $5 note issued by this Northampton County bank. The Cement National Bank of Siegfried was chartered in October of 1899 and issued Series of 1882 Brown Backs first with $5 notes issued in sheets of four and $10 and $20 Brown Backs issued in the $10-$10-$10-$20 sheet format. This newly discovered note is the first Brown Back to come forward on the bank. It displays a boldly inked solitary number 1 below the portrait of Benjamin Harrison as well as broad margins, lightly circulated paper and sharply printed design elements. Neatly penned signatures of bank officers Chas. D. Andrews and Oliver Williams are observed as well.
