T-24. Confederate Currency. 1861 $10. PMG About Uncirculated 53.No. 59364. Plate H. Confederate Secretary of State R.M.T. Hunter is seen at the lower left. The child portrayed in the lower right is believed to be Alfred L. Elwyn, who as an adult was a Philadelphia minister, Unionist and abolitionist. CSA script watermark. PMG notes "Minor Repairs" which are near the back bottom right edge and having no bearing on the visual impact of this note. A very well centered and extremely bright offering on this popular $10 design type. Scarce this pleasing with PMG having graded just eight pieces in the entire Uncirculated range. A far better example than the typical VF notes that regularly populate auctions. The last AU that we sold was a PMG AU 58 EPQ that topped the $2,000 mark in our October 2018 sale.
