Magnolia, Florida. Merchants & Planters Bank at Magnolia. 1832-33 $10. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.(FL-35 G8). Benice 4. Imprint of Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Co., New-York. Archimedes lifting globe at center. Square portrait of Franklin at left. Ceres at right. The use of apostrophes in the bank title conveys that this was from the first series of notes issued in 1832. This short-lived bank only remained in business for a couple of years until 1834, and was subsequently rechartered as the Merchants & Planters Bank of Florida. The Newman example was a far inferior PCGS VF 30 and it still mustered a $350 price tag. This is the single finest example we have seen for any denomination from this issue.
