T-19. Confederate Currency. 1861 $20. PCGS Currency Very Fine 25.No. 524, Plate A. One of the great notes produced for the Confederacy by the Southern Bank Note Company of New Orleans. This T-19 $20 is seen with Minerva seated to the left, Navigation is seated at center by a globe and charts. A blacksmith with hammer and anvil stands at right. This example is notoriously hard to find in problem free grades of Very Fine or better. The present example is the exception and is seen with wholesome, problem free and uncancelled paper. The cut is exceptional with full frame lines and ample margins. The orange tints are bright and largely free of oxidation often seen on this type. This is an excellent mid-grade note that would make a great addition to any type set. From the Green Valley Collection.
