Very Fine.European bond buying was significant during the growth of the United States in the industrial age. Four accomplished 4% consols receipts for large sums of bonds, issued from London, dated 1879. Two for Rothschild & Co. and two for Morgan & Co.; also unissued 1870s Morgan, London check on tissue thin paper (proof?). The issued forms are scarce, particularly for Rothschild.
