1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition. President Roosevelt Dollar. Silver. 38 mm. HK-308, Krueger-45. Rarity-7. MS-62 (PCGS).;The Louisiana Purchase Exposition was held in St. Louis, Missouri and opened belatedly on April 30, 1904, a year after its scheduled opening date. Well over 1,000 different medallic tributes were produced for the Exposition, including no less than 27 varieties that are now collected as so-called dollars. The present design is arguably the finest and most attractive, as well as one of the scarcest. Brilliant fields highlight the cameo appearance of President Roosevelts bust, with only some microscopic hairlines in the obverse fields keeping this piece from a significantly higher grade.;From the Michael Druck Collection.
