An EXCEPTIONAL RARITY , this prototype from the ever-popular panda series features the familiar obverse paired with a Great Wall reverse that would be unadopted, passed over for the Temple of Heaven design. It also displays a denomination, unlike the official issues of 1982, which lack such a distinction. Of note, the Great Wall reverse would later be utilized--most famously for the Dragon and Phoenix issues. Boasting tremendous frosting upon the devices and brilliant mirroring in the fields, this specimen offers a great chance for the most advanced of collectors, as it is a type that, unsurprisingly, is missing from most collections.
