A RARE and impressive type done by an unnamed German medallist, this exceptional issue provides a striking portrait of the Ch ing imperial viceroy, Li Hung Chang, from a much celebrated trip to Hamburg. Offering cartwheel luster evident upon each side, it provides a stunning appearance, especially within the thatched nature of his hat s interior. The only distraction-- a subtle one at that --occurs in the form of some light scratches on the reverse, just above the leonine supporter on the reverse.
