Invitation of the Commissioners of the Dominion of Canada to a Luncheon Held in Acknowledgement of the "courtesies which Canadians have received" of the Director-General Heads of Departments. October 27th, 1893. The invitation is printed on card, in black, with the date filled in. It is 4.5 inches x 5.25 inches and virtually As New. It is accompanied by a type-written invitation signed by the Executive Commissioner for Canada, John Short Larke. This is printed on plain paper, single-folded. 7.75 inches x 5 inches and virtually As New. Accompanied by the original presentation enveloped, addressed to Dr. F.W. Putnam. As this invitation specifically mentions the intent to acknowledge the Director-General and the heads of Departments, of which there were only 12 at the Exposition, we must assume that there were only 13 of these invitations sent. Another very rare piece of Columbian Exposition ephemera.
