Collection of American Legion Convention Badges from Eben Putnam. Putnam was very active with this organization and once served as National Historian, along with his personal World War I Identification Tags. Most are brass and enameled, suspended by ribbons from pinback hangers with panels for the bearers names: Badge for the Massachusetts Delegate to the 1st American Legion State Branch Convention. Minneapolis, 1919. Extremely Fine, light oxidation. Still on the original backing card; National Historian badges (2). Both Extremely Fine; 2nd Annual Convention Badge. Cleveland, 1920 (2). One named to Eben Putnam as National Historian, the other with "E. Putnam" written in. Both Extremely Fine; 3rd Annual Convention Badge. Kansas City, 1921. Essentially As Issued, and still backed on the original Whitehead and Hoag card; Secretary of Dept. of Delegation Button for the Kansas City Convention. Extremely Fine; 4th Annual Convention Guest Badge. New Orleans, 1922. About Uncirculated. Named to Putnam; WWI Veterans Badge for New Orleans, in the form of a WWI helmet, suspended from a pinback hanger, reading "New Orleans / 1922." Very Fine; White silk ribbon printed in blue, NEW ORLEANS / 1922. Very Fine; 4th Annual State Branch Convention Badge. Massachusetts, 1922. About Uncirculated. About Uncirculated; Committee Badge for the 1929 Boston Reception of the National Commander of the American Legion, Paul V. McNutt, who later was named Ambassador to the Philippines. Very Fine; 12th Annual Convention Chairman Badge. Boston, 1930. Extremely Fine. Gilt, with two additional bars reading "1930 Convention Corporation" and "CHAIRMAN."
