Menu for a Dinner Given by the Imperial Japanese Commissioners of the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Honor of the Officials and Foreign Commissioners of the Event. July 29, 1893. Very Fine. 8.25 inches x 5.75 inches. Printed in black on a heavy orange and cream card, folded once. At the center of the cover is embossed the flags of Japan (though incorrectly with an orange center rather than red) and the United States, crossed behind a large gilt and embossed chrysanthemum. A rose silk ribbon is threaded through two holes in the cover, and tied in a bow. The menu is printed inside. Light handling and some minor staining along the top, but bright and attractive otherwise.
