Exceptional Menu and Program for the Coronation Day Celebration Hosted by the Commissioner General of Russia for the Worlds Columbian Exposition, in Honor of the Emperor, Alexander III. May 15 (27), 1893. This lot includes an exquisite banquet menu, printed on heavy cards, and threaded together with tassled, red, white and blue cord. The cover is multicolor, with gilt accents, and measures 8.75 inches x 6 inches. Extremely Fine, but with some minor staining. The menu is given in French. The card with the musical program bears the multicolor arms of Russia embossed on the face, with the interior printed in gold. As folded, it is 5.5 inches x 4 inches. Extremely Fine. Bright and colorful. A large pencil sketch is noted on the back. A colorful and impressive pair with interesting new style / old style date formats, as Russia did not adopt the Gregorian calendar until 1918. (Total: 2 pieces)
