拍品描述： 1956 Franklin Half Dollar. Type I. Proof-68 Cameo (PCGS). CAC. This lovely Ultra Gem sports a boldly cameoed finish with surfaces noteworthy for their virtually pristine quality. Among the most desirable survivors from this issue with only 6 graded finer by PCGS in this category. Approval by CAC confirms this superior quality. <p>This is by far the scarcer hub variety of the Proof 1956 half dollar, the Type I Reverse accounting for only about 5% of this issues mintage of 669,384 pieces (this estimate per Bill Fivaz and J.T. Stanton in the 2012 edition of Cherrypickers Guide to Rare Die Varieties of United States Coins, Volume II). This variety is identifiable by the low relief eagle that displays four feathers on its right wing to the left of the perch.<p><p><p> From the Bimyway Collection.
