1788 Vermont Copper. RR-29, Bressett 22-U, W-2220. Rarity-5. Bust Right. VG Details--Tooled (PCGS). 113.0 grains. A variety of considerable rarity and an equally high level of popularity due to its dramatic obverse die break that is characteristic of all known examples. This decent specimen offers pleasing color and an overall presentable appearance thanks to the full legends and date, and mostly outlined devices. The surfaces are moderately granular and show old scrapes across both sides. Still, this coin is of higher quality than many survivors of these dies. From the Norman G. Peters Collection.
