One side of the host coin depicts an engraved pictorial TARGET with CROSSED RIFLES and a WREATH and on the other side is engraved PREIS MEDAILLON / DER / UNABHAENGIGEN / SCHUTZEN COMP. / VON / NEW HAVEN, CONN. in German that translates to: PRIZE MEDAL / OF THE / INDEPENDENT / SHOOTING COMPETITION / OF / NEW HAVEN, CONN.
