拍品描述： (Ca. 1800) George Washington Portrait Shell. Brass. Musante GW-66. Extremely Fine. Approximately 57.5 mm (shell), 63.7 mm (with circular inner frame), and 115 x 110 mm (lacquered wood frame). Polished, with traces of residue in the recesses. The inner frame is separated from the outer wood frame, but the parts are present. Virtually identical to one sold in our January 2012 Americana Sale, though that one was higher grade and completely intact (it was used as the Musante plate). Musante attributes this to the shop Nathanial Marchant and Lewis Pingo based on its similarity to pieces bearing their mark and featuring portraits of George III and Thomas Jefferson.
