NC-154a. North Carolina. April 2, 1776. $1/8. PCGS Currency Extremely Fine 40. Dog.No. 8041. Signed by G. Hill and Willis Alston. Printed on laid paper. Small format size. There were eight different vignette types for the $1/8 notes. The Dog vignette is easily one of the scarcest within this denomination. Well margined and well centered with lots of intricate details noticed on the vignette, e.g. whiskers and smile. A sharp impression from a strong plate. A superb example for this lower denomination example. A paper sheet fold as made and two light diagonal folds. We last sold this note in our Ford XV sale for $1,725. Ex: F.C.C. Boyd collection.
