1869/69 Indian Cent. Snow-3d, FS-301. Repunched Date. MS-64 RB (PCGS). OGH.A beautiful example of this perennially popular Indian cent variety. The surfaces are awash in vivid reddish-gold, autumn orange and rose-brown colors that are most intense at the borders. The strike is sharp, the luster full, and the eye appeal is nothing short of outstanding. Snow-3 is one of several varieties of the 1869 Indian cent that was once classified as an 1869/8 overdate (Snow-4 and Snow-5 are the others). The present example, mounted in an old style PCGS holder, is not denoted as an 1869/69 on the insert. Even so, the diagnostics are unmistakable, and at the uppermost reaches of the assigned grade level this premium quality example is sure to catch the eye of astute Indian cent variety collectors.
