1857 Flying Eagle Cent. Snow-9, FS-402. Obverse Clashed Die with a Liberty Seated Half Dollar. MS-64 (NGC). CAC.This well struck Gem has satiny mint luster and excellent eye appeal. The presently offered coin is one of three mysterious issues among Flying Eagle cents of this year, in which a Flying Eagle die clashed with a die of an unrelated denomination. The present coin shows outlines of a Liberty Seated half dollar on the obverse, particularly prominent under close inspection. Here indeed is a prize for the specialist.
