Lot of (3) of 19th Century American Firemans Buttons. Brass. Extremely Fine. Two are very similar, with an image of a man walking left with a firemans megaphone at his lips, and the word FIRE on a ribbon above. They are nearly identical except for size (26 mm vs. 32 mm). The reverse of the smaller one is marked SCOVILLS / WATERBURY, while the reverse of the larger one is blank. The third piece is 32 mm and the image follows the same pattern, except that the word FIRE is not present. It also differs in being silvered and of two-piece construction. Marked JACOB SEEGAR / BALTIMORE on the convex reverse. The spelling of the surname is in error -- Jacob Seegstronge/strongr was a well known, token-issuing, metal-plater in Baltimore during the 1850s and 1860s.
