1829/7 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-102. Rarity-2. MS-65 (NGC).A beautifully toned, wonderfully original Gem that ranks among the finest certified survivors from the 1829/7 O-102 dies. Both sides are lightly to moderately toned in a blend of iridescent pinkish-apricot and powder blue. The strike is nicely centered with full denticulation around both sides. Overton-102, offered here, is marginally scarcer than O-101, but both varieties are readily obtainable in an absolute sense. At the Gem Mint State grade level, however, this is a rare variety with the present example tied for CC#2 in the Autumn 2018 revision to Stephen J.
