Very Fine.The earliest United States savings bonds are the rarest type. By the 1940s they had a "mass-produced" appearance, much different from this rarer Series B type. For this $25 maturity bond, the issue price was $18.75. Payable in ten years, 1936-1946 written dates. Finely engraved by the BEP. 22.0cm by 20.0cm. Green undertint with vignette of the White House at the bottom. Blue Treasury Seal center. Washington upper left, across the series and redemption date. Payment for early redemption chart lower right. Embossed Treasury Seal. Back with payment form printed in green with instructions. Issued 1/1/1936 to man in Rolla, MO. Hinge remnant back center, bright on the face. We do not recall handling another "White House" style bond. Handsome and unusual.
