Host coin Fine.，A well centered counterstamp on a slate gray host coin, which is attractive for the grade with no distracting marks. Joseph Hobdays daguerreotypes are among the finest of their era. Brunk lists only one other piece, on an 1853 half dollar, but the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection (lot 21733) also had an 1853 Arrows and Rays quarter with the same stamp. A very scarce counterstamp.，，
