New York--New York. (1853-1855) ADMIT / TO / WOODS / MINSTRELS / 444 BDWAY / NY on an 1817 Spanish colonial 2 reales. Brunk W-795, Miller-NY 964B. Host coin VG.,The counterstamp is fully impressed on the obverse, that side of the host coin retaining outline detail to the portrait and bold definition around the periphery. The central reverse is soft due to the counterstamp, but the definition on that side is appreciably sharper toward the border. Both sides are pleasingly toned in medium golden-gray with no blemishes of note apart from a pair of tiny nicks at 3 oclock on the obverse border. Neither the Rulau nor Brunk references report this counterstamp on a Spanish colonial 2 reales dated 1817.,Cardboard 2x2 with attribution notation included.,
