Pair of 1856 Election Tickets for the Democratic Party, used to elect James Buchanan and John C. Breckenridge to the Presidency and Vice Presidency.,Both used and endorsed on the back. Both Very Fine. One is larger format, approximately 118 x 140 mm, with portrait vignettes of the candidates at the top. The second is smaller, approximately 76 x 134 mm, also with a vignette at the top. However, in place of the portraits is an impressive scene with the Temple of Liberty at the center, large eagle above and THE CONSTITUTION below. A locomotive is seen at left, and ships at right.
