1844 Henry Clay. DeWitt-HC 1844-5. White metal. 43.5 mm. About Uncirculated, pierced for suspension.,Bright surfaces have traces of light toning and perhaps a bit of light debris clinging to them. Two small areas of tinpest are noted in the right obverse field, but are barely distracting. Generously reflective in the fields and satiny otherwise. This is the later variant with the engravers name removed from the obverse die, and a small die crack from reverse rim to the lower right corner of the central device not seen on the brass impression above.
