Danville, Virginia. Danville Bank. February 22, 1859. $50. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. Small Internal Tear at Right.;(VA 65-G8a). We occasionally see the lower denomination notes from this bank, but auction appearances for the $50 denomination are few and far between. A fully framed piece with robust signatures, vivid ink colors, and sublime paper surfaces. A single small tear at the upper right hardly affects anything. The Newman note shares the same technical grade but was problem-free. The visual appeal of the current offering is vastly superior to that note.
