1799 Capped Bust Right Eagle. BD-10, Taraszka-22. Rarity-3. Large Obverse Stars. EF-45 (NGC).;A handsome piece that will have no difficulty finding its way into an advanced type set of classic U.S. Mint gold. Bathed in rich olive-khaki patina, both sides retain overall bold detail in the presence of light wear. The impression is nicely centered, the border uniformly denticulated around both sides. Scattered abrasions are commensurate with the grade, accuracy alone compelling us to mention a few light scuffs in the lower right obverse field and a tiny rim nick at 12 oclock on the same side. Although 1799 BD-10 is one of the most frequently encountered varieties in the Capped Bust Right eagle series, the type as a whole is scarce when viewed in the wider context of U.S. numismatics. This wholesome Choice EF will win many adherents among gold enthusiasts.
