1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-27, B-5. Rarity-1. Three Leaves. EF-45 (PCGS).;This boldly defined 1795 Flowing Hair will be particularly appealing for type purposes. Delicately toned in pale golden-gray iridescence, the surfaces show ample remnants of a satin to semi-reflective finish. The strike is nicely centered and generally well executed, and appreciable softness of detail is confined to the high points of Libertys portrait and the eagle, typical for survivors of this issue. Given the rarity of the key date 1794, the 1795 is the only realistic type candidate in the brief two-year Flowing Hair silver dollar series. BB-27 is the most frequently encountered die marriage of the date and examples enjoy strong collector demand across the entire grading spectrum.
