1797 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. B-2, BB-72. Rarity-4. Stars 9x7, Small Letters. EF-40 (PCGS).;Boldly toned olive-gray on the reverse while the obverse displays brilliant orange, rose and olive green across pleasing surfaces with no distracting hits or scrapes. This eye-catching EF is by far the scarcest of the three die varieties of 1797, and amounts to fewer than 10% of the 1797 dollars certified by PCGS. The great majority of these are in the VF grade range and are seldom seen finer. We estimate that probably only a couple hundred of these have survived to the present time. A truly lovely example that will fit nicely in an advanced numismatists cabinet.
