Representative of one of the many cut sheets that we have offered over the years; this one is certainly one of the most remarkable that we have offered. Even so cut sheets of this design can be encountered with a degree of regularity rarely are they as remarkable as this one which represents the second sheet printed for the VV Block. Further consider that each note in this lot either received a grade of Gem Uncirculated 66 PPQ or Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 PPQ at the hands of PCGS Banknote one will certainly understand why this remarkable lot stands among a league of its own and begs the question as to how it even survived in the first place especially at this grade level. Was it saved for posterity by some Treasury apparatchik? Was it given as a gift to someone with the appropriate connections at the Treasury Department? Was it later acquired and held among the holdings of a collector in the vein of Albert A. Grinnell? Either way this assemblage represents an opportunity bound to be years in the making and one that would make for a standout piece in even the most advanced collection. From the Shores Collection Part I.
