拍品描述： 民国十年徐世昌像纪念银币。天津铸币厂。CHINA. Dollar, Year 10 (1921). Tientsin Mint. PCGS MS-61.齿边，背镌铭文于下。此枚二十年代初所铸银币，乃广受追捧之经典之作。正面铸时任大总统徐世昌肖像，微侧向左，背面则为协和医学院一隅，故得亭子币之称。铸工精湛，图文锐利，币面完好，光泽温润，除边缘略有香槟色包浆外，馀无其他色泽。备受追捧的版别，曾以为是样币，现在看来更像是纪念章，原准备于北京协和医学院开幕时送出。初版设计凉亭下方留空，用于雕铸受赠人姓名，后因在铸造第一批时发现操作困难而改铸纪念币三字。L&M-864; K-676; WS-0101; Chang-CH234. Variety with reeded edge and with legend at bottom of reverse. Always a hotly-contested and iconic issue, this crown from the beginning of the 20s features the slightly left-facing bust of then-president Hsu Shih-chang on its obverse and a corner view of the medical college that has garnered it the appellation pavilion Dollar. The strike is elegant and quite sharp, with the surfaces remaining inviting and problem-free, largely without any evidence of toning outside of some tinges of champagne at the extremes of the peripheries.<p><p><em>An incredibly popular and desirable type believed to have been a pattern issue, it now appears that these were, in fact, more medallic in nature, and meant to be given out upon the opening of the Peking Union Medical College (PUMC), the facade of which is displayed upon the reverse. Initially designed with a blank field below the pavilion for the intended recipients name to be engraved, the reverse was altered slightly to contain the characters 紀念幣 between two rosettes, as the engraving proved difficult on the initial batch.</em>
