The mintage of 240,000 pieces was among the lower in the series and thanks to wholesale melting of much of the mintage, the number of survivors is quite small. A high grade for the date, this essentially Choice Mint State example is among the dozen finest graded by PCGS, with just seven graded finer. Rich golden luster radiates boldly on both sides, accenting crisply defined devices on both the obverse and reverse. An exemplar 1921 Melbourne Sovereign that belongs in an advanced cabinet of Australian gold coins.
