Diameter: 34mm. Of uncertain German origin. Struck to commemorate Li Hung Changs visit to Berlin. Obverse: Capped and robed bust of Kuang-hsu facing; to right; dragon rampant right; Reverse: Robed bust of Tzu-hsi facing slightly right. An immensely desirable issue, with this handsome example delivering sharp details and no evident signs of handling. The notation of cleaning likely arises from some limited hairlines underneath the deep toning. An enticing piece, given the general appeal of the type, coupled with the pleasing nature of this example.
