CHINA. Fantasy Gold 5 Dollars, "1913". NGC MS-63 Prooflike. KMX-700. Obverse: Crossed flags with two characters above and two below; Reverse: TRUST IN GOLD at top legend with central wreath with four line inscription -- 5 / 22 - Ct.. / GOLD / 1913 -- at center. Displaying immensely bright and reflective surfaces with designs that are sharply struck on both sides. An IMMENSELY RARE type, this is only example we can locate. Considering the design, it clearly relates the crossed flag/sunface gold type (KMX-705), which appears very rarely. As a frame of reference, the last appearance of that type came in 2022, when an example was offered in the auction of Chaponniere & Firmenich (Switzerland), ultimately realizing nearly $25,000 for an NGC-graded MS-63 example. Ex: Money Company Expo Auction (5/1989) Lot # 646.
