(t) HONG KONG (SAR). Mint Error -- Double Struck in Collar -- Silver Dollar Pattern, 1864. London Mint. Victoria. PCGS Genuine--Repaired, Proof--AU Details.

Emanating from a vast series of pattern Dollars, with a good deal of mixing and matching of obverse and reverse dies, this EXCEPTIONALLY RARE type features an enchanting bust of the queen very similar to her famous and highly popular Gothic-style coinage. Here, her youthful crowned head displays her hair plaited with a braid descending from her temple, around her ear, and tucked at the nape of her neck. Meanwhile, the reverse displays a double border, one consisting of an oak wreath, and the other composed of a series of floral scrolls, all around the name of the colonial outpost and denomination in Chinese. Some light friction is noted, along with the subtle cleaning, but a great deal of glistening brilliance remains along with some alluring cabinet toning beginning to reemerge. An incredible opportunity for the collector of the Hong Kong series, Victorian issues more specifically, or world crown RARITIES more broadly.
