Type II; variety with raised veins in outer leaves. Undoubtedly a show-stopping specimen, and one that belongs in the most advanced of Chinese cabinets, this lofty pattern issue offers much that makes it ceaselessly desirable. Chief among those reasons is the fact that it marks the end of the line with respect to Ch ing patterns, and features a "reversed" dragon that coils in an array opposite to that encountered on the eventual business strikes (L&M-36/37). The surfaces are awash a near liquid-like brilliance that, along with a crisp and robust strike , is a hallmark of its specimen nature. Meanwhile, the toning, while somewhat limited to a minor area on the dragon side, takes a much larger role upon the characters side, featuring enchanting sprinklings of crimson and goldenrod that dance delightfully among the fields and around the devices.

The RARITY and importance of this exceptional offering cannot be overstated, as prototypes such as this, in the overwhelming superior condition that it displays, simply do not present themselves often.
