Despite the NGC attribution of 1926 JK AC-70, this obverse die was used for all four Assay Commission medal issues from 1926 through 1929. Handsome olive-brown patina with a pleasingly smooth obverse, a few inoffensive carbon flecks within the recesses of the incuse design elements on the reverse. An intriguing die trial, and presumably rare.
