BELGIUM. Ghent. Church of St. Bavon of Ghent Bronze Medal, 1846. Geerts (Ixelles) Mint. UNCIRCULATED. Ross-M18; Van Hoydonck-17; Reinecke-9; Bouhy-48. By J. & L. Wiener. Diameter: 50mm. Obverse: Exterior view of the church from an eyepoint directly west of the western façade. Reverse: Perspective view of the church interior from an eyepoint just left of the center aisle, looking east. Reflective fields enhance the matte architectural features. On the reverse, the clerestory windows are reflective - a magnificent detail in a extremely well-executed architectural medal. A very attractive specimen.
