SKYTHIA. Geto-Dacians. Koson. AV Stater (8.50 gms), Mid 1st Century B.C. NGC MS, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. HGC-3.2, 2049; RPC-1, 1701B. Obverse: Roman consul accompanied by two lictors advancing left; Reverse: Eagle, holding wreath, standing left on scepter. A stunningly original example of this popular yet mysterious type. The obverse exhibits die shift but is well-centered. The reverse is slightly off-center but quite sharply detailed. Full mint luster abounds on the fields of both sides.
