AUGUSTUS, 27 B.C.- A.D. 14. AR Denarius, Lugdunum Mint, ca. 2 B.C.-A.D. 14. NGC EF. Scratches. RIC-207; RSC-43. Obverse: Laureate head right; Reverse: Caius and Lucius Caesares standing facing, resting hands upon shields; two spears behind; simpulum and lituus above. A charming example of this popular dynastic type, featuring a strong portrait of Romes first emperor, as well as a well-presented image of his two ill-fated grandchildren. The argent surfaces are slightly rough but free from any problems.
