ROMAN REPUBLIC. Anonymous. AR Denarius Serratus, Uncertain mint in Sicily, 209-208 B.C. NGC Ch VF. Light Marks. Cr-79/1; Syd-519. Obverse: Helmeted head of Roma right; X (mark of value) to left; Reverse: The Dioscuri on horses riding right; wheel of six spokes below. This earlier Denarius features an impressive well-centered strike. Some marks are seen on the center of the obverse, but the details are otherwise sharp and very attractive. Moderate gray toning with hints of blue vibrance enhance the coins eye appeal.
