1806 Capped Bust Right Half Eagle. BD-6. Rarity-2. Round-Top 6, Stars 7x6. AU Details--Slide Marks (PCGS). Lustrous for the grade with a pleasing satin texture, this otherwise medium gold example is further enhanced by splashes of iridescent reddish-rose. Boldly to sharply defined from a nicely centered strike, there are no sizeable or otherwise individually mentionable marks on either side. Adjustment marks on the reverse are as made. Evidence for the PCGS qualifier is not readily apparent upon initial viewing, but rotation under a light shows a curious "shine" to the obverse high points due to concentrations of faint slide marks. Visually appealing, nonetheless, and desirable as a more affordable example of this perennially popular type variety in the challenging pre-1834 half eagle series. BD Die State d/f. PCGS# 8089. NGC ID: 25P5.
