1907 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. Arabic Numerals. MS-64 (NGC). CAC. Here is a gorgeous CAC-approved Mint State representative of the brief and popular No Motto Saint-Gaudens double eagle design type of 1907 to 1908. Matte-like texture with powder blue and golden-wheat color. Satiny and well struck, it is very close to a full Gem designation. Off the market since 1996, it is sure to please the discerning double eagle collector or 20th century gold enthusiast.
The popular 1907 Saint-Gaudens double eagle is the first of only two Philadelphia Mint issues of the brief Arabic Numerals, No Motto design type. It is far scarcer than the 1908 No Motto, especially in the finer Mint State grades.
From the Dr. Paul and Rosalie Zito Collection. Acquired February 21, 1996.
