Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant skin and with aegis around neck; Reverse: Athena advancing right, brandishing spear and wearing shield on extended left arm; to right, helmet, ΔI, and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Deeply toned and with tremendous detail to the face of the deified Macedonian king, this specimen stands as an excellent representation of the type, with just a minor countermark on the obverse and some slight striking weakness on the reverse noted.
